Mediscan Australia utilizes a world-leading forensic and analytical service facility in Perth, Western Australia.

The state-of-the-art equipment base and stringent QA/QC protocols, ensure that the highest quality of analytical science is delivered to our patients.

The fully functional forensic laboratory facility contains state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation, providing accurate and reproducible data.

We use state-of-the-art ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) and ICP-AES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy) analytical instrumentation to determine the analyte concentrations in the hair tissue.

The use of both instruments and correlations of data, enables the most accurate concentration determination to be made. The sample is digested with a custom acid mixture, diluted and analysed.

Certified Reference Materials and in-house standards are used to calibrate and optimise the instruments to ensure that the daily analytical runs can be compared. There are several types of samples also included for quality control and quality assurance purposes, to ensure the data delivered is accurate, reproducible and representative of the sample.
